I've recently begun a quest in real life: a search to find the ultimate BBQ sauce.

I have 3 in there already, and many more to come. I will hopefully be adding at least 2 entries a week; whether it be a review of one already done but on a different type of meat, or a new sauce entirely.

I'm also open to suggestions of sauces to try. But remember, I live in Canada. I might not be able to find what you suggest, so keep it to major stores like WalMart, Superstore, Safeway, IGA, etc.

also, pics will be coming if i ever get my camera back from my girlfriend, or if i get my printer set up to use the card-reader on it for my cell phone.

My walmart carries it. If it doesnt let me know & I can send you some if the USPS would let me.

Overall, its the best damn sauce I have ever had. The only bad thing about it is that it has the power to break plates at will.... well in the microwave. So never have a plate with some & put it in the microwave for over a minute. I have broke 3 or 4 plates that way.

theres another brand, i want to say its Texas Steakhouse, that tastes JUST like mcdonalds bbq

I found the Sweet Baby Ray's sauce today at the Superstore for like $3.50. insanely cheap compared to what i've been testing out (which average around $7 a bottle). I've got a few more (Rufus Teague Honey Sweet, Texas Longhorn Smokey Chipotle, Stonewall Kitchen Roundhouse, Diana's Western Smokehouse) I want to review before this Sweet Baby Ray's sauce, but it will get in there sometime... probably in a week or two.

it somehow tied my favorite sauce (the Tipsy one)
probably because the price drove the points up so high.

you should make some subtotals, maybe split them into 2 groups: overall presentation and cooking (pre and post cooking consistencies, flavor)

Also, the more i like the sauce, the more likely I am to try it on other things and in different ways. For example, this was just broiling it on chicken. What about roasting on boneless/skinless chicken so there's less fat to melt it off? and what about pork or lamb? or marinating fish in it? or mixing it into hamburger when i make homemade burgers? or using it as a stir-fry sauce? or grilling steak with it? or frying bacon in it? or mixing it into an omelet? or spreading it on buns/bread when i do a cold-cut sammich? or doing a rice casserole with the sauce as a flavor base?

If I ever do any of those things, I'll be reviewing it again to get a more accurate point spread than just one instance.
so don't worry... this isn't just a one-time try. I DO have the rest of the bottle to go through, and it IS dirt cheap compared to the other sauces I'm trying (sometimes almost 1/3 of the price).

speaking of which, i should really make some rice sometime soon... I live right by an asian supermarket, so my choices of rice are almost endless, and in monster 25kg bags, too.

yeah, but i mean when a sauce gets a 45/70, people thing "well, thats only a little more than half" now if it got a 30/40 on taste and a 15/30 on looks, it might change their mind.

But you can easily see where it loses points in my breakdown.
You wouldn't expect a movie critic to break a review into Audio and Visual categories, would you? You'd want an overall rating, but see where it's strong points vs weak points are.

However, I am giving it another shot for the SBR. Slathered over a Pork Tenderloin and baked.

One thing SBR is really good for, at least in my opinion, is BBQ Chicken pizza. That's what i use on them when I make'em, and damn it is good.
