Sup dood

Just a heads up, if you got something you'd like to tell me, you can just email me. You don't have it to persistently vomit it out all over the MCB forums where Carter shelters everyone from me, by banning me off this forum to "protect" all of you from getting a response from me.

So what's on your mind?

Now that you mention it...

Well, first off, I'm assuming you're referring to my thread in the Members section. I posted that in the Members section because I didn't want the entire forum to flip out about it and start arguing. That post started out as a joke because a lot of the regulars know how argumentative I can be, and you have a reputation of not taking kindly to people who disagree with you. So I told them that if I did sign up on your site, I would probably end up getting myself banned within 24 hours. Well, the day came when I found a post worth replying to, so I signed up. After getting everything all sorted out, I still didn't have posting privileges. So the next day I posted that thread in the Members section (laughing at my own situation), and shortly after I was able to post. Kitty then posted and said if I had any any problems, she could get them straightened out, but I told her everything was fine now.

Now, to the other thread (I got an email about your PM as I was writing this, so I'll just combine the two as I was going to bring it up anyway.)

I'm critical of other people's sites, and theres a reason why I don't post in 99% of PBN. If it weren't for the friends I've made and the people who need tech help, I probably wouldn't post there anymore. I've butted heads with staff there a few times myself. Lets just say Lurker and I don't exactly see eye to eye on a lot of things, among other people.

I asked Gordon to look into the Gamer565 thing because I had only heard his side of the story, and didn't know how much was fact and how much was exaggeration. And I found it kind of funny how the Intimidator "Guide" that is on the site now is an exact copy and paste of the PBN/IOG stickies, yet a simple link didn't suffice. And that was the only part that I knew about, he never mentioned the other stuff. And the part where:

He made accusations that I haven't helped a single person with an Bob Long product, and I countered with the 20+ bob long videos I've made that have been viewed by over 600,000 people combined.

Sure he went about it the completely wrong way, but I can see where he is coming from, because some people find it easier to see written responses to their problems instead of rewinding a video to find out what they missed. I know your site started out as videos, but it still helps to have a written version. Personally, I myself am not a fan of tech videos for that reason. I prefer pictures/diagrams and written explanations. And I was a little surprised when I went to the Bob Long section and didn't see any write-ups by you, considering you know so much about the marker.

Now you have my side of the story, and I hope you don't get too defensive about it.

And I'm surprised that you took the time to mention TWO separate sites where I may have said some unkind things about TechPB, seeing as they are all opinions and everyone has one. Hell, you should hear some of the things I say about Ed and the higher-ups at PBN. I can guarantee you that they're much worse than anything that I've said about you. I just think that a lot of your members (just as the agglets are to PBN) are misguided by thinking that you are something more than you are. And yes, I have met kids (at the field) who spend more time on your site than others, and some of them do tend to think of your word as law. Some of them have become ignorant of what else is out there, and it is hard to get them to open their minds. Now, I'm not saying that its your fault that they believe you 100%, but while you put as much fact into your reviews as you can, it is impossible to be truly unbiased, and personal preference dictates a lot of how we perceive the truth.

I do understand that people who religiously follow my advice, might be "annoying" to other people who may see things differently than I do.

From my observation, and from meeting and talking with fans of my videos all over the US, the reason why people listen to the advice I give, is because they watched a video I made, trusted the advice, and it worked out ok for them. Then I made another video, they watched it, followed the advice, and things ended up ok for them. 500+ videos later, obviously I would have established somewhat of a good fan base.

I take pride in knowing that people listen to my reviews. I take alot of responsibility in knowing that people trust me with their money, not to steer them in the wrong direction intentionally.

That's fine if people like putting information in the forums. We are a brand new forum, no [censored] we don't have all the information in there, and PBN has alot of information. We know that, they've been around for 8 years, 400,000 people, of course they are going to have more information that a new paintball forum that's been live for a little over a year. Your boy "gamer565" had one agenda, to try to embarrass my site, embarrass me, and promote PBN. That's why he was banned.

And also, the advice and tips I give about Intimidators, is what I learned tech'ing guns shoulder to shoulder with Ron Nelson, Terry Fong, Jason Watson, Danni, Joe, Matt Girardi, Jason, and Will Roberson. So when someone tells me that I'm wrong, I take no offense to it at all. I am only preaching, what I was taught. If you want to tell me that 80PSI is too high for the Alias LPR, I'll put you in touch with Jason Watson of Techna Trigger who told me to set it that way. Don't think Dow55 is a good lube for Intimidators? It's what Terry told me to put on the guns. The list goes on and on.

Moving on

Something else I find comical is that you think that because a company "sends us a gun", that I automatically give it a positive review. First off, I have tons of money. Not from TechPB, but from my own investments, my own savings, my own things I do on the side. A $1,000 marker is nothing to me. I'm not trying to pad my own ego here, but handing me a $1,000 paintball marker doesn't impress me more than me giving you a Dye locklid pod. We don't ask for markers for free, most of the time they just arrive at my house. I have no problem paying for them. One of the absolute BIGGEST supporters of TechPB was Gun Ltd, the makers of the VAnguard Creed. They spent over $1500 per month for almost 6 months with TechPB to have the banners. What did I say? The marker was overpriced. A week later they sold the line to KEE.

PaintballBidWars was going to spend almost $8000 PER MONTH to advertise with TechPB. We had his credit card information and everything! They wanted to buy every single banner we had on the site, radio, videos, they wanted to buy every single banner on the site. Keep in mind, at the time we were approached, we were still WAY negative and were spending money out of our pockets to keep the site alive. We held off, found out they were a scam, and blasted them on the show. 3 months later the two owners are in jail in New York (thanks to my video) and their site was taken down.

"Ignorant to what else is out there" - this is where we are going to disagree. What else is out there? A bunch of forums, filled with assholes like over at MCB? Who wants to deal with a bunch of anonymous forum assholes, when getting information? Sure, it CAN be a good resource, it has the potential to be a good resource, but they are going to walk you over the coals to get it. If forums were a good source of information, people wouldn't watch my videos. 2 million video views per month, that's how helpful our videos are compared to forums. If you want to stick that old format, cool. But I can promise you (and I've already proved it), that video is the new format. Players don't give a [censored] about forums anymore, neither do I. They want to see living, breathing people explaining it to them. Not 1 gold nugget of useful information in a mountain of [censored] that they have to wade through.

If forums served such a useful purpose, no one would watch my videos. Sure, some people may prefer to get their information that way, but most do not. It's the new age of paintball

Like I said, I'm not trying to sway your opinions on me as a person. I would be a shivering wreck in a mental hospital somewhere if I gave a [censored] what anyone thought of me, especially on chicken [censored] websites like MCB, but I figured I'd at least give you the courtesy since you signed up for TechPB, to at least drop you a line and let you know my side of the story, so you can continue your "online crusade" with something that has a little more weight.

Maybe we'll see each other at LL3

Ok, like I said before, theres nothing wrong with videos. Can we agree that today's generation wants to have everything laid out in front of them and spoon fed? They don't want to go look for advice, they want it to be handed to them. But at the same time they don't want to sit through a 10 minute video for one snippet of advice.

Personally, I don't care how you run your site. After all, its your site. Same goes for MCB and PBN. They run their sites how they see fit, and the most I can do is rant and complain. I have never once told anyone "don't go there, they don't know what they're talking about" (well, aside from PBN's Small Talk). I prefer the smaller community-run sites myself, where everyone knows each other and there isn't an overflow of questions and new people giving false information. I'm not here to cause problems, I'm just here to give advice to the best of my abilities. I don't have an agenda, I'm not on a "crusade," I just call em how I see em. And as I said before, I'm an opinionated person. I don't think I could ever give completely unbiased advice when it came to what gun to pick. I moved from PBN to MCB, and while I already butt heads with some people over there, I have yet to see anything that tells me its an uninformative forum. Then again, I don't have the time to read through every thread on every forum I'm a member of, just the ones that catch my eye.

Well here is what we'll do. I have a responsibility to not spread false rumors and false information to the paintball public, and I'm going to encourage you to do the same.

I don't spread rumors about you, or talk about you behind your back in places where I think you can't see it (like the "member only section" over at MCB, and I'm going to politely ask you to return the courtesy.

If you want to play the game of "let's spread false information and lies on the internet" about me, I can do the same about you. You want to spread false rumors that I personally ban people from TechPB because they "don't agree with me",or that my videos and reviews are skewed because I got a discount on a paintball gun, I can start spreading rumors about you.

For instance, I could put in a video that you were expelled from high school for sniffing bicycle seats, or something else as stupid and corny as some of the stuff you like to say about me, and we'll let the chips fall where they may. I could do something as stupid as leaving the video up for 3 straight weeks, wait till it hits 100,000 views, and your "online life" would certainly be interesting after that to say the least!

I'm a person, just like you are. I won't talk [censored] about you, I'm going to politely ask that you return the favor. If you have a question about something in regards to me, you now have my phone number and my personal email address, you can contact me and I'll tell you my side of the story.

So would you like to call this square, or do we need to take this into a different direction?

First off, I could care less if you have people in places that watch my posts. As I said before, I posted in the members section not to hide it from you, but to hide it from some random person walking through the forum and starting a flame fest, because I didn't want them to get the wrong idea, which I tried to explain earlier. I was aware that you had staff members that are also paying members on MCB.

And I could care less about my internet reputation. Its only the internet. And if you did try to pull something like that (hypothetically speaking), how would it look if YOU, a respectable member of the paintball community, look to other people. Making a far-fetched attack on a random person most people have never heard of? If I were in a position of importance, sure, I'd probably watch my tongue some more, but most people don't care about what I have to say. But, I'm just a college kid who loves paintball and probably spends a bit too much time reading forums, and I have a tendency to speak my mind.

Third, seeing as how you singled me out from the hundreds of others that feel the way I do has boosted my ego. I never knew that I had such an impact on the paintball community.

But, since I'm running out of time and have finals in a few, lets call a square a square. And if anything new comes up, I'll make sure to bring it up with you first.

That's good. I didn't just "single you out", I keep tabs on people who are signing up for TechPB, and I would much rather speak to you in person, over the phone or via email before something publicly is said. I figured it's best to contact you ahead of time, before we both end up ruining any chance of us possibly working something out, or coming to some common ground.

I appreciate you signing up at our forums, you produce alot of great information and there are thousands of new players signing up who can use your assistance.

As much as people hate the idea of it, mods from every other site (including MCB and PBNation) keep up to date with the people who they feel might cause trouble for me. Your name has come up several times, from several websites (a5og & MCB were the two main ones), so when I saw it come across the registration que, I figured I'd contact ya.

If a guy named "Ceaser the Ghillie Rat" was blasting you all over the internet, on multiple forums, then you saw someone at your field wearing a jersey that said "Ceaser the Ghillie Rat" on the back, you'd probably ask him if it was the same person. I've had about 20 emails from site admins and moderators that dropped your name with the links, so when I saw "DFSniper" over at TechPB, it wasn't hard to put it together.

With that being said, I consider everything in the past the past. You're 100% welcome at TechPB and I appreciate you taking the time to help some people over here who need it. Definitely check out the online deal hunter, it's a great section on TechPB and certainly worth the time you registered alone-

http://www.techpb.com/forum/index.php?showforum=530

Hopefully we can meet at Living Legends, you can ask Gordon, I'm a pretty chill guy when you meet me in person, and most people would agree, you couldn't ask for a better teammate on the field :-)
