So I'm happy to oblige with the first... This is going to be the collected endeavors of myself and my VERY tight knit group of friends, and the bastardization that will occur to my newest acquisition; a 1990 Honda Civic Si Hatchback aka Sheila (for now). For those of you who don't know. I'm moving back to Tundra Bay (better known as Thunder Bay) and my friends have decided to slap together another car for me as Jess is going to FINALLY get her license soon (and is stealing my 92, why.. it's auto). My friend Dave is pretty much spearheading this, and is easily the best brotha a guy could ask for (which reminds me I have to stop telling him my plans for the car because he seems to delight in just doing it for me because I have no access to the damn thing). So... as I get updates on the status I'll post them here. And eventually when I get my grubby little hands on the thing those will be added to the collection as well. So without further adue, the start of a beautiful thing.... Dave got bored... when Dave gets bored, he deconstructs things.... And the state of the body... its a good thing we're friends with a local body shop, Dave will be taking on the majority of the body stuff, but the body shop is kind enough to lend a hand (and a paint booth) when need be, to be honest, it isn't in that bad of shape for a twenty year old econobox. Both rockers appear to be in the same state, just behind the doors in front of the rear wheels, the bottoms of the doors need a little love too, though it's not overly bad. As well it looks like the previous owners took decent care of the car as the engine bay and underside (aside from the rockers) have been undercoated multiple times, so it looks like those areas are solid. It also appears the previous owner thought it wise to protect his investment... twice. Dave pulled out two separate alarms from under the dash. The rat's nest pictured is the aftermath. I see I have my electrical work "cut out" for me when I get home, that is if he doesn't just replace the dash harness completely. Did I mention Dave is a sales clerk for the largest scrap yard back home... damn that's coming in handy. Case in point..... Replacing the torn (and smelly) stock seats (left) with units out of a 98 Acura EL (right). I forgot to mention, somehow the previous owner managed to break the driver's side seat pan... not that I'm complaining... the car was $200... A nice interior shot, for those that recognize it, YES that's a CRX front bumper. Which goes well with CRX fenders! I know they're a little short, which is why the talented Mr. Dave is going to fire up his trusty minigrinder and pull a Dr. Frankenstein with the upper 3/4 of the CRX fender and the lower 1/4 (under the moulding) of the Civic fender... Civrex anyone.... or Civic RX.... how about just bastard..? And I'll end on a high note, Dave also managed to pull out his inner Scot and lowball the former owner of these BBS rims into a more reasonable price. $200. Dave, you are beyond a highway robber, you sir, are a highway pirate... minus the anal invasions... Oh.. did I mention they've never seen the road...? Stay tuned... as I said, I'll update as I get them. God, its frustrating seeing things take shape when you can't even join in the fun..

Yeah, I just got my first round of pictars, so I thought I should share. being as this one I'm actually going to build up nice. I had a good start on my Accord, but unfortunately a nice car wasn't in the cars for me at that time, and I had to sell it to help fund my move down here.
And who knows, I'm going to have to pay Dave back for this... so I'm thinking track down a 95ish Mustang GT (last year of the 5.0, efi.... man that's begging for sequential twin turbos....)
I should probably also grab him the grille he wants for his '04 TL I helped him nab not too long ago as well.. That's also a hot car.

I just haven't been able to like any of the other bodies, the 03 style is alright.. but I hated the 04, the 10 is meh. And don't get me started of Fox body rustangs...

Piss on the fox bodies. 3rd gen Camaro FTW in those years. The only other 'stang that gets respect is the '64.5-'66. Once they started to "tweak" the SN95 bodies, it went down the drain. Each generation since has got worse then the previous. Dont get me started on Ford trucks.....

[censored] that, with a proper all motor honda you can outrun a hell of a lot of things, and god forbid you boost or spray something.
i want to see where this goes, what motor/trans?

Right now the stock D16A6 and matching tranny. Thinking about building a D16Z6 and getting the hydro Si trans though (metal shift forks, instead of aluminum). I want it to be a fun little car, but it's still a daily driver. If I find myself with something else in the near future, I might build the Z6 for boost, or maybe attempt a CRV-tec swap. Ideally I'm going to stick with N/a though. Less chance for headaches. Annnnnnd tires are in! Dave even got a friend of ours to make custom gel logos for the center caps!

Trying to keep costs down, and from what I've heard it'd require a JDM front end to fit the K (for the bubbled SiR hood), plus trimming the webbing (supports) on the bottom of the hood to get it to close. Worst comes to worst, if this isn't enough I'll keep it as a daily driver and punk my 92 hatch back from my wife once she gets something else. It's auto, and the K already needs a shift plate fabbed up so I think that's the route I'd go there. The build I'm looking at is bastically PM7 pistons (JDM ZC) and some breathing mods (intake, TB, header, cam, pnp) and maybe a Hondata ECU. When all is said and done it should net just over the whp of a B16, with less cost plus there's also the fact that I'd be running on a freshly built engine.

.......... I know what a "K" is, hood, "auto", pistons, mods & freshly built engine. Beyond that you got me... Does it atleast have pushrods?

K-series - the engines found in most new sport model Honda/Acuras, the most notable being the RSX Type-S (Integra Type-R in Japan, they have a slightly different rotating assembly than our NADM (North American Domestic Market) models) The problem with putting that engine in my car is that it requires ALOT of work and a fair amount of fabrication/modification. And I'm not sure, Honda may have finally gone to Hydraulic lifters, but for the most part, the cam lobes have direct contact with the valve stems, methinks. Either way, I'm happy with a 7500RPM redline, if I want more I might track down something else, but for the moment I'll stick with a cheap (aka easy to find) engine option. As for the pistons I want, the great thing about Honda's engines are that most "upgrades" can be found in stock form. The pistons I mentioned are from older Integras with a certain engine, they were also found in Japanese ZC engines. Basically saves me from shelling out the big money on aftermarket rods and pistons. Ninja Edit! CRX Goodness! It appears a drop is needed.... as well as a side of fender modification! And the turn signals are on order!

i was just giving you [censored] really, haha, you know what your after and thats good. oldiron, learning hondas is quite confusing sometimes, i am still learning the ins and outs, i know most of the motor codes and am learning the chassis codes and next comes fitment with diff engines. the reason i made the comment about the k and f series is here in atlanta those swaps are extremely common and i figured it wasn't that hard, guess i gotta keep lookin up info.

Im not going to learn them unless its being paid for. What I get from yall will be filed away in my head for that odd talk with someone & I can attempt to look smart with jap-traps.

lol Yeah Rageous, I heard Bisimoto had something like a 400whp F series a while back. I think it was the F23A1 bottom end from a 98-01 Accord, and the head from an F22 (DOHC) 94-97 Accord. Something about that head design just lets to make mad numbers, for a Honda that is.. Maybe when cash isn't so tight I'll look into a more expensive swap. For now I'm going to drive it with the stock engine, until I get the body/brakes/suspension/interior how I want them.

bisimoto just does crazy [censored] and it makes numbers. bisi's stuff is legit though. If I were to ever build an all NA it would be a F hybrid or build K24 in a stripped em2 chassis. buddy of mine has done it already and its one hell of a [censored] sleeper.

Another update!! Nice *** shot.. One of the few spots that needs some love. And a nice goody Dave discovered after removing the rear bumper. Shouldn't be too much work to fix. Old rocker is off! And the new ones are on and body filled! Bumper is back on, a couple tabs that locked into the old Civic metal bumper had to be ground off to fit the CRX one. Result, a near perfect fit. Needs some work to get the ends to line up right, but she's almost on!

Hey guys.. haven't had much time to update. Anyhoooow... In the last two weeks I've managed to actually work on the car - the first order of business was attacking that mangled mess under my dash. Say what you will, theres a reason remote starts and security systems are recommended to be professionally installed. As well, I discovered the reverse light switch (in the transaxle) was faulty, and the reverse light sockets were corroded to [censored], after chasing wires, testing switches and some battery cleaner foam (avec elbow grease); the underside of the dash is much cleaner, and the reverse lights work again. As well this last weekend I restored the stereo harness to factory - people need to stop being cheap and just buy the adapter harness for their radios. Also Dave and I replaced the brakes this weekend. Under the dash, after the remote start/security system was removed Annnnnnnnd........................... I finally have pics after paint! Mmmm... CRX goodness... 1/4 window is still out on that side, need to get some of the attachment clips, Apparently Honda still sells them Need to get a new CIVIC plate - both of mine only have like 3 tabs left that connect it to the hatch.. Horn works! Try the brakes! It's coming along quite nice, next bit of work is an oil change, and we have to bastardize a DX seat (stealing the seat pan) and try and fix my Si seat.
