From the people who brought you Band of Brothers comes a new mini-series in the same fashion. A side-story to Band of Brothers, The Pacific deals with the Marine Corps. fighting in the pacific (obviously) rather than Europe. It premiered on HBO on March 14th. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pacific_(miniseries) idk about you guys, but i [censored] LOVED Band of Brothers. Naturally, I'm really looking forward to The Pacific. My only problem is this: I don't know if I should watch it as the episodes come out, or wait until they're all released and then watch, or wait for the collector's tin that it's undoubtedly going to be shipped in when it hits DVD. I'll probably download them and wait for them all to be released and watch them all together, then buy the DVDs when they come out. thoughts?

I just watched the first episode.
[censored].
It was great. It throws you straight into the battle instead of having the training that Band of Brothers shows. Starting episode 2 right after this post.

Mine are all 720p. However, I don't like how crisp it looks... Sure, the battle scenes are more gritty, but it's just too clean for my tastes. Band of Brothers had a stronger film grain effect and lower production value which seemed to fit it perfectly; it never really felt like a movie, nor did it feel like a mini-series either. However, The Pacific is made more like a movie, which doesn't really sit too well in my mind. There's also the thing about the character development going on... Band of Brothers introduced the main characters quite nicely, and you kind of got to know them more by the end of the first episode. The Pacific doesn't really do that, and I'm only just starting to get to know them in Episode 4. Then again, I've seen Band of Brothers so many times that I know them all without the intros, whereas The Pacific is new to me... maybe after I've seen it three or four times I might be able to give a better comparison.
